András Ladocsi

András Ladocsi is a photographer and cinematographer who conveys a sense of community, routine and belonging within his allegorical images. Moving away from his home in Hungary to the metropolis of New York City, Ladocsi photographs the intricacies and mundanities of life.

Since graduating from Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest in 2015, Ladocsi’s work has received global recognition. His sensual photographs have been exhibited at the likes of The New Vanguard, Hyères festival and Photo Vogue Festival. He is currently studying at Royal College of Art, where he hopes to hone his craft.

Using analog techniques, intimate moments are expressed with warmth and affection. He engages with light and movement to convey the complexities of the human form and connection. This is a conventional approach of the young photographer, who works intuitively; photographing from feelings.

Bordering on discomfort, his images are nostalgic and emotionally charged. Viewers are invited to peer into the lives of different communities and social groups. “I want to create situations in which my subjects can practice acts of self-representation or self-expression,” he says.
